Monkey butt

Meandered from the garden to the longhouse with a couple of the community's smaller members, all of us thrilled by each different flower or bug that we encountered.

Then we saw a bug eating another bug on top of a flower (!)


Then, suddenly, perhaps overwhelmed by all of the excitement,
they unleashed a barrage of profanity and verbal abusive...

Tofu clinic

Soak em beans

Get yer box

From the bottom of my tofu box's dark hold

Sew the tofu bag

Blend em beans




Squeeze out the good stuff (soymilk), and add nigari, a biproduct of salt, to curdle it

The "curds" are your tofu. Strain...

And press...

And voilĂ !

Cut and enjoy!

River Lodge


Wanna yomp?

Chase and I did a bit of work for a neighbor who runs a river lodge. Long walkways over the muck of the river bank must be rebuilt each year for boat access during low tide. The river can have a tidal range of 20 feet, so that's a pretty good stretch of muck to cover. The charming promenade above is our handiwork.
